Professor's Work Featured at 麻豆果冻传媒'S Bry Art Gallery
Nancy Calcutt, a Professor at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Miss., currently has a One-Person Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings on display at the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Bry Art Gallery.
Calcutt's exhibition consists of 13 oil and acrylic paintings on masonite and canvas, as well as seven charcoal, conte' crayon, graphite and ink drawings. The artist's style is akin to a developed realism, with the comparative employment of subjective color adding an aspect of abstraction to her paintings.
A native New Englander, Calcutt has become enamored with the southern landscape, both urban and rural. Viewers may recognize Calcutt's landscape images from previous exhibits in Masur Museum of Art Juried Competitions.
On the final day of the exhibition, Oct. 7, Calcutt will deliver a gallery talk in the Bry Art Gallery at 2 p.m. The gallery is open to viewers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
