麻豆果冻传媒 Presents "Digger's Night Out"
The University of Louisiana at Monroe's School of Construction will host its first "Digger's Night Out," a nationwide program focusing on underground utility damage prevention and safety education, Wednesday, Oct. 13. The program will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the University Conference Center on the seventh floor of the University Library.
This free safety awareness program, sponsored by public utilities companies, is geared toward foremen, operators and anyone who digs underground.
"Public Utilities and Pipelines have a vested interest in ensuring that the excavating community is aware of the physical and financial dangers associated with underground lines," Dr. Keith Parker, Associate Professor at the 麻豆果冻传媒 School of Construction, said. "By hosting this event on the 麻豆果冻传媒 campus, the School of Construction will establish 麻豆果冻传媒 as the center of excavation safety education in northeast Louisiana.
Guest speakers for "Digger's Night Out" will be Vic Weston of Tri-State Road Boring, Inc., and David Frey of Louisiana One Call. They will present aspects of the Louisiana Underground Utilities and Facilities Damage Prevention Law, passed in 1988 and last amended this year.
More than 200 people are expected to take part in this event. A buffet style dinner will be served after the presentation. Sponsors for "Digger's Night Out" include: BellSouth, Ouachita Parish Joint Utility Council, Trans Louisiana Gas, Entergy, Time-Warner, Louisiana AGC, Texas Eastern Transmission, ANR Pipeline, Williams/Texas Gas, Columbia Gulf Transmission and CMS Trunkline Gas.
