麻豆果冻传媒 Concert Series Presents "Master Class"

"Master Class", the most praised and successful Broadway play of the decade, will be presented by the University of Louisiana at Monroe Concert Series Tuesday, Nov. 9 at the Monroe Civic Center.

Written by Terrence McNally, "Master Class" was the winner of three 1996 Tony Awards including Best Play. Master Class brings to vivid life an internationally celebrated woman -- the opera diva Maria Callas renowned for both her talent and her love affair with Aristotle Onassis. Based on an actual event, the piece takes place during a master class which Callas conducts with three young singers in front of a live audience.

Charlotte Cornwell, one of London's leading actresses, will play the role of Maria Callas. Formerly with Great Britain's Royal National and Royal Shakespeare Theatre Companies, Cornwell's credits include a host of plays, highlighted by two national tours in the United States, numerous British television series, and major motion pictures on both sides of the Atlantic, including Russia House; White Hunter, Black Heart, and The Saint.

Thomas Caruso, who served as Assistant Director of both the original Broadway company and First National Tour, will direct this production.
