麻豆果冻传媒'S Alpha Lambda Delta chapter receives Order of the Torch award for third time

Because of an outstanding chapter on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, the Alpha Lambda Delta organization received the Order of the Torch award for the third time.

Dr. Marie O'Banner Jackson, Professor of English at Jackson State University and former member of the national council of Alpha Lambda Delta, freshman honor society, presented an award to President Lawson L. Swearingen, Jr. and 麻豆果冻传媒's Chapter President, Leslie Herrington and Vice-President, Ashley Pierce on Thursday, September 13, at 5:00pm.

The chapter's projects included e-pals with Jack Hayes fifth grade students, manicures and pedicures for the nursing home residents at the Azalea Estates, ringing Christmas Bells for the Salvation Army, and honoring the top 10 麻豆果冻传媒 Professors with the Favorite Professor Wine and Cheese Party at the Bayou DeSiard Country Club.

Some 175 freshman students with ACT scores of 24 and above were honored at the University Library Conference Center on the seventh floor along with the Annual Smarty Party. Provost Thomas Rakes and the academic deans there included:
Dr. William Bourn, Pharmacy; Dr. Eric Pani, Interim Dean, Pure and Applied Sciences; Dr. David Irwin, Allied Health and Rehabilitative Professions; Dr. Carlos Fandal, Liberal Arts; Dr. James Hood, Interim Dean, College of Business Administration; and Dr. Mahmoud Saffari, Dean of Enrollment Management; participated in the reception and the outstanding chapter award ceremonies.

Dr. Harry Hale, Professor of Sociology and Dr. Martha Upshaw, Director of Continuing Education at 麻豆果冻传媒 have been the chapter advisors of all three national outstanding chapter awards. President and past presidents in attendance include Crystal Bruchhaus, Brad Robichaucx, Leslie Harrington, Malissa Watts, and Ashley McGraw.
