麻豆果冻传媒 School of Construction Honory Society recognizes 13 new members
After a one-week pledge period, 13 new members joined the University of Louisiana at Monroe Construction Management Honor Society, Sigma Lambda Chi. The initiation ceremony took place on Friday, March 1, 2002.
New members include: Cody Bordelon from Evans, La.; Timothy Clifton from Sarepta, La.; Leslie Dyess from Junction City, Ark.; Al Hayward from Monroe, La.; Charles Mardis from Monroe, La.; Christopher Mardis from Monroe, La.; Charles May from Columbia, La.; Michael McFerren from Shreveport, La.; Nikolaj Morris from Sterlington, La.; Raymond Nicholson from Calhoun, La.; Marcus Rockett from West Monroe, La.; Jack Skaggs from Bossier City, La.; and Brian Welch from West Monroe, La.
"It's an honor to become a member of Sigma Lambda Chi," Leslie Dyess, a construction management junior from Junction City, Ark., said. "You work hard all year to keep up good grades and it's nice to be recognized for that with Sigma Lambda Chi."
"Sigma Lambda Chi recognizes construction students who have obtained an overall scholastic average in the upper twenty percent of his or her incoming class," Herb McCaskill, faculty advisor to SLX, said.
Every year Sigma Lambda Chi gives out two awards, one for the Outstanding Graduate and one for the Highest GPA. The awards ceremony is usually held at the end of the spring semester and is followed by a cookout.
Sigma Lambda Chi current officers are Charlie Monk, president, Brad Caldwell, vice-president, and Lisa Holland, pledge trainer. Active members for Spring 2002 are Tim Breaux, Kelton Day, Colin Dunn, Madison Flowers, Chris Highsmith, Brant Jones, Keith Keller, Jacob Nabholz, Vicki Ogle, Ronald Peoples, Jenina Perkins, James Reed, Sam Strack, and Chad Womack.
