National Organization Honors 麻豆果冻传媒 Grad
A life member of the University of Louisiana at Monroe Alumni Association and a graduate of the 麻豆果冻传媒 class of 1970, Roland Clements, M.S., M.Ed., R.T.(R), FASRT, has become only the 16th radiologic technologist to be named a life member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Clements, of Honolulu, Hawaii, has a long record of service to the Society, which he joined in 1961. He served as ASRT's secretary-treasurer in 1982, president-elect in 1984, president in 1985 and board chairman and speaker of the house in 1986. He was elevated to ASRT Fellow in 1983. He also served as the ASRT appointee to the board of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology from 1989 through 1994.
A dedicated radiologic science educator, Clements has lectured at many professional meetings in the United States and abroad and has published numerous articles in professional journals. In addition, he developed three positions that are described in radiographic positioning textbooks.
Clements spent most of his career with the radiologic technology program at Kapiolani Community College in Honolulu, where he was appointed program director in 1970 and retired as a professor in 2002. During his tenure as director, the program received an Outstanding Vocational Educational Program Award from the U.S. Department of Education. Mr. Clements and his wife, Henriann Clements, R.T.(R), RDMS, own Clements Consulting LLC, a medical education and imaging business in Honolulu.
Life membership has been bestowed on only 15 other ASRT members: Thomas Lough, Margaret Hoing, Roy Wolcott, Alfred B. Greene, Martha G. Hampel, Clark R. Warren and Genevieve Eilert were named life members in the 1940s and 1950s; Angeline Cullinan, John E. Cullinan, Sister Agnes Therese Duffy, Ruth Jaffke and LaVerne Gurley were named life members in 1996; Frances Apple became a life member in 2001; and Philip Ballinger and W. Jay Huston were made life members in 2002.
