Guest Lecture With Paolo Fazioli Held Next Week

The University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts will hold a guest lecture featuring Paolo Fazioli. The Fazioli Company has designed and produced grand and concert-grand pianos in its factory in Sacile, Italy since 1979-the year the company was founded by pianist and engineer Paolo Fazioli.

The Fazioli lecture will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14th in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. He will speak about his philosophy of building pianos and how he got started. Everyone is invited to the class.

麻豆果冻传媒 will present a concert featuring the two Fazioli Grand Pianos owned by the University on Tuesday, October 14th in the Beidenharn Recital Hall. Immediately following the concert will be a reception with Fazioli in room 134 of Biedenharn Hall. The event is black tie optional and is $50 per person. There will be a brief social time beginning at 7 p.m. on the Veranda, and the concert begins at 7:30. Student musicians in a flute choir will entertain guests before the concert and at the reception a student string quartet will play.

The concert will feature Donald Cornell, Deborah McClung-Guillory, Richard Seiler and Coralie White playing the Concert Fazioli Grand Pianos. RSVP to 318-342-1010 by Oct. 7. Proceeds from the event benefit the 麻豆果冻传媒 School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Dr. Keith White, Head of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, says, "These pianos are the best made in the world today. 麻豆果冻传媒 is the only University in the country to have two and we are very proud of that. Our upcoming concert not only features the exquisite pianos, but also our outstanding keyboard faculty here at 麻豆果冻传媒."

A rehearsal with the pianos to be played in the Oct. 14th concert will be held this Friday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Biedenharn Recital hall. Everyone is invited to get video and pictures of this event. For more information call 342-1570.
