Region 3 Science and Engineering Fair Winners Announced

Lanh Phan of Richwood High School and Sagan Ezell of Calhoun Middle School were the top senior and junior winners at the Region 3 Science and Engineering Fair held in Fant-Ewing Coliseum March 25 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Phan received the Senior Sweepstakes Award, the Senior Grand Prize Award in Physical Sciences and the United States Navy Senior Award.

Ezell received the Junior Sweepstakes Award and the Junior Grand Prize Award in Physical Sciences.

First, second and third place winners in all categories are eligible for the state science fair scheduled to be held in April in Baton Rouge. Region 3 comprises Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll Parishes.

Not all places were awarded in each discipline.

Heather Greer, Delhi Charter School, the Senior Grand Prize Award in Applied Sciences and First Place Senior Division Agriculture Award.

J.T. Patterson, Good Hope Middle School, the Junior Grand Prize Award in Biological Sciences.

Daniel Murray, Calhoun Middle School, the Junior Grand Prize Award in Applied Sciences and the Rietchle Thomas Industries Award.

Jessica Walters, Good Hope Middle School, the University of Louisiana at Monroe Photography Award.

Whitney Manning, Grace Epsicopal School, First Place Louisiana Speech, Language and Hearing Association Award.

Becca Williams, Morehouse Magnet School, Second Place Louisiana Speech, Language and Hearing Association Award.

Ryan Dickey, Ware III School, Third Place Louisiana Speech, Language and Hearing Association Award.

A.J. Chase, Good Hope Middle School, the American Chemical Society Award.

Brian Milstead, Calhoun Middle School, the United States Navy Junior Award.

Alexander Moreau, Geneva Academy, the United States Navy Junior Award.

Ashlee Sisson, Pinecrest Middle School, the United States Navy Junior Award.

Eric Whitehead, Good Hope Middle School, Second Place Junior Division Agriculture Award.

Moustafa Elsayed, Good Hope Middle School, the Genetics Award-First Place.

Lily Barham, Grace Episcopal School, the Genetics Award-Second Place.
