Staff Recognized for Their Years of Service at 麻豆果冻传媒
The first ever Staff Rewards and Recognition Program was held today at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Brown Auditorium. The program honored more than 290 classified employees who have given 5 or more years of service to the university. This event marked the first time the classified employees have been honored in such a way.
麻豆果冻传媒 President James Cofer said, "The employees honored today have served the university for decades, and their experience is invaluable as we move the university ahead. I speak on behalf of the entire university when I say, 'Thank you.'"
麻豆果冻传媒 Vice President for Business Affairs Dr. Nick Bruno was on stage to present the employees with their awards. The 15 employees recognized for their 30 years or more of service received a rosewood desk clock and a lapel pin. Twenty-four employees honored for 25 years or more of service received a 麻豆果冻传媒 watch and a pin, and 50 employees honored for 20 years or more of service received a plaque and a pin.
In addition, the 51 employees honored for 15 years of service, the 72 honored for 10 years, and the 85 honored for 5 years all received a lapel pin and a certificate.
Those receiving honors included secretaries, librarians, custodians, food service workers and many others. President Cofer mentioned in his welcoming address that all these positions are highly important to the success of the university, and the administration wanted to ensure that these long time employees are recognized for their efforts and support.
One of the employees honored today was Alma Sewell. She has worked at 麻豆果冻传媒 since 1972. Sewell has spent a majority of that time in the College of Arts and Sciences as an Administrative Specialist One. She has helped coordinate behind the scenes office work for over three decades yet says she did not plan on being at 麻豆果冻传媒 for over 30 years. "I started so young, I never thought I would stay here that long, but I have really enjoyed it. It has been fun. The interaction with students, faculty and staff here has made it worthwhile."
Alex Littleberry was recognized today for his nine years of service to 麻豆果冻传媒. Littleberry is a Custodial Supervisor Two. He supervises eight custodians and oversees work in the first six floors of the 麻豆果冻传媒 Library, CASS in Harris Hall, the police and post office building, Strauss Hall, the infirmary, the counseling center building and Delta Community College. In all he supervises over 299 thousand square feet a day. He always greets people with a smile and a hello. He said, "The job has been a blessing to me and my family and I always tell people I enjoy working here. There are good times and bad times, but the good times outweigh the bad. I plan on retiring here, that is my vision, one day hopefully the Lord will bless me and I will keep moving up."
Annette Murdock-Tangye, Training and Development Coordinator at 麻豆果冻传媒 helped plan the event.
