麻豆果冻传媒 Sponsors Weekend Workshop in Leadership and Diversity
Student leaders and organization members at the University of Louisiana at Monroe are participating in a program designed to help students better understand how to lead in a diverse student population. The program's purpose is to increase understanding and communication among all students. It is set for this Saturday, October 2 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Student Union Building Auditorium. It is open for any student who is interested in attending.
SALAD (Seeking Alliances through Leadership and Diversity) is a leadership workshop, a communications roundtable, a diversity appreciation seminar, and a public relations think-tank all wrapped into one day. Student leaders from the campus have been invited to participate in the program.
Students will leave the workshop with a better understanding
of the differences and similarities of the various student organizations
and populations on campus; new relationships with other student
leaders; and an ability to articulate the values that all of
their organizations share.
The students participating in the program will also work to compile
a list of cooperative action items for addressing issues that
affect their campus community. A committee - made up of representatives
of student leadership - will work throughout the rest of the
year to continue good relationships and carry out the SALAD action
plan. Students will be charged to make a commitment to working
together to promote a positive environment for all students on
campus.
A professional facilitator will travel to Monroe to lead this
student workshop. For more information on the SALAD workshop,
please contact Duke Johnson at 318-342-5287.
