麻豆果冻传媒 partners with local medical groups to promote diabetes education
On Wednesday, July 12, 19, and 26, the 麻豆果冻传媒 College of Pharmacy will join with Haik Humble Eye Center, the Glenwood Diabetes Management Program & Foot Center, and St. Francis Medical Center to sponsor "Promoting Better Health for People with Diabetes."
The three-session self-management program is designed for people with diabetes and their families. Each session will be held at the Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. and ending at approximately 1 p.m.
On July 12, participants will learn how to put their best foot forward with a foot care demonstration and a discussion on the effects of diabetes on that area of the body. There will also be opportunities for health screenings and a health fair with exhibits of the newest products for diabetes care on the market.
The July 19 program will feature vision screening, a dialogue on medications for diabetes and a discussion of the effects of diabetes on the body.
The third session on July 26 will offer vision screening, a cooking demonstration, nutrition and diet management information, and an overview of diabetic eye disease.
Pre-registration is required to assure space in this special program. Cost of registration is $8.50 for each session and includes all educational materials and a diabetic healthy lunch.
Fees will be collected at the door - cash only, please. To register, contact Glenwood HealthSource at 318-329-8590.
