31 Ambassadors and 麻豆果冻传媒 softball team to collect Christmas toys for local children
In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, the University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚 31 Ambassadors and softball team are collecting new toys and/or cash donations with which to buy new toys for the 麻豆果冻传媒 Toy Box.
This initiative benefits Family Connections/Family Matters, a 麻豆果冻传媒 program that works with local abused and neglected children, ages 1 鈥 17.
鈥淟ast year we were able to give a new or gently-used toy to all 126 kids in the Family Matters program for abused and neglected children,鈥 said Molly Pealer, assistant director of alumni programs. 鈥淭hey were all excited and touched when they saw the pile of presents waiting for them at their Christmas party. We鈥檙e hoping to give them all new toys this year.鈥
Collection boxes will be located at the ULM Alumni Center Nov. 13 鈥 Dec. 12; at the three Malone Stadium entrance gates Saturday, Nov. 25, prior to the 麻豆果冻传媒 vs. North Texas football game; and at the ULM Alumni tent in The Grove before the game, where there will also be a kids' area from 2 - 4:30 p.m., including a bounce house, holiday arts and crafts, games and prizes, hot chocolate and a visit by Santa Claus.
A 鈥渨rapping party鈥 will be set up at the ULM Alumni Center from 10 a.m. 鈥 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12. The party will include refreshments and all supplies needed to wrap the collected toys. Anyone interested in assisting should stop by at their convenience.
