Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Small Business Development Center offers free workshops
The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Small Business Development Center will offer a free Sources of Funds for Small Business workshop Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the ULM Administration Building in room 3-95.
This workshop is designed to inform small business people or any individual who may want to start/expand a small business about different sources of funds available to them. Representatives (loan officers) from the USDA Rural Business Cooperative Services, the Small Business Administration, the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation, the North Louisiana Business Industrial Development Corporation, the Louisiana Business Loans, and Source Capital will discuss their agency programs and how to access these sources of funds for start up and expansion. If you need capital, one of these programs may meet your needs.
Attendance at this workshop qualifies for four CPEs, as required by the LA. State Licensing Board for residential contractors.
The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ SBDC will offer a free Evaluating and Financing Your Business Idea workshop Thursday, Nov. 9 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans’ Home.
It will also offer an identical workshop Thursday, Nov. 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Delhi City Hall Council Chamber.
his two-hour workshop is recommended for individuals who are interested in determining the feasibility of their idea, are planning to start or have recently started a small business, want to expand their business, are interested in obtaining a small business loan, or want to learn more about planning and management. Topics of discussion include business feasibility, business planning, business description, marketing strategy development, financial planning, loan process/applications, and sources of funds for small business start-up and expansion.
The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ SBDC provides quality, no-fee, confidential, one-on-one counseling services to potential and existing business owners; provides no-fee management and technical assistance services by appointment; conducts workshops and seminars to help small business people become better managers and to keep them informed about current events and changing trends in today’s business world; and maintains a resource library which includes statistical data, census figures, SBA publications, and a variety of other information.
Pre-registration is required. To pre-register for any of the workshops, call the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ SBDC at 318-342-1224. Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of time scheduled for registration.
