5th Annual Mardi Gras Ball to occur in new SUB ballroom Feb. 15
The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Student Government Association will be hosting the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Ball Thursday, Feb. 15 in the new Student Union Building ballroom.
Tickets for Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ students with ID are available in the Student Center on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets are $5 for students’ guests. They are free for faculty and staff and $10 for faculty/staff's guests. This year's ball will feature a royal court, complete with king and a queen.
The ball will be a formal, masked event. Men are required to wear a tux/suit and tie and ladies need formal evening wear apparel. Everyone needs a mask, and students are encouraged to be artistic and creative. The SGA will hand out simple black masks at the door.
Entertainment includes Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½'s Jazz Ensemble from 7:30 – 9 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres will be served, and the focus will be on faculty, staff and court revelry.
All guests are encouraged to see the court and royalty presentation at 9 p.m., including Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½'s dance team, the Warbonnets. A standing buffet will be served following the presentation. Radio DJ T-Lay from "100.1 Da Beat" will oversee the music until 1 a.m. A cash bar will be provided.
