Small Business Development Center to offer several start-up workshops

The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Small Business Development Center will offer a Starting and Financing a Small Business workshop Thursday, Feb. 15 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Bastrop City Hall.

Co-sponsored by the City of Bastrop, Bastrop/Morehouse Chamber of Commerce, and the USDA Rural Business Cooperative Service, the workshop is especially intended for individuals who want to start or expand their small business. It helps identify business ideas while explaining the steps necessary to develop a business plan and identify sources of funds.

A similar workshop is also scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the ULM Administration Building, room 2-105. Another will occur on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Jonesboro Town Hall.

The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ SBDC provides quality, no-fee, confidential, one-on-one counseling services to potential and existing business owners; provides no-fee management and technical assistance services by appointment; conducts workshops and seminars to help small business people become better managers and to keep them informed about current events and changing trends in today’s business world; and maintains a resource library which includes statistical data, census figures, SBA publications, and a variety of other information.
