Professor's films distributed in the Baltic States

The "Our Urban Environment" film series produced and directed by John W. Sutherlin, assistant professor of political science, will now be distributed in the Baltic States in eastern Europe.

"We had been working on this for several months," said Sutherlin, "and when Lithuania agreed to be our partner for the region everything else seemed to fall into place."

The "Our Urban Environment" series covers topics from water quality to solid waste management to brownfields remediation and redevelopment.

The series is distributed by Films for Humanities and Sciences (), the nation's oldest educational film outlet.

Sutherlin added, "I think what makes these films so accessible to people around the world is the subject matter. Regardless of where you live, clean air, water and soil are important."

With the addition of the Baltic States, Sutherlin's films have been distributed in more than 50 countries. His series was first distributed last year in the Arab Middle East.
