Ward’s paintings accepted at art competition in El Dorado
An art faculty member at the University of Louisiana at Monroe
has had paintings accepted at the Annual Juried National
Art Competition at the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado,
Ark. Robert G. Ward, professor of painting and drawing, will
represent the university with two landscape acrylic canvases
titled "Chromatic Pulsations" and "An Exchange
from the Grapevine."
Artists residing in the United States were eligible to submit
up to three entries completed in the past two years, to be
jurored by Mississippi museum consultant Patti Carr Black.
Black selected works by 36 artists for display at the SAAC
Merkle and Price galleries.
Ward's paintings and works will be on view
from
July 5 – 27. An artists' reception will be held
at the SAAC facility at 110 East Fifth Street in El Dorado
on Saturday, July 14.
