鶹ý’s “Chef Joe” wins regional ACE competition

Aramark’s Chef Joe Halliday whipped up a culinary triumph March 22 as he won the regional Aramark Culinary Excellence competition held in the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Union Building.

Halliday competed against four other chefs from across the Southwest. He will represent this region at the Ace National Challenge late July in New Orleans. The winner there will receive a cash prize and a one-week expense-paid trip to Europe with spouse included.

Halliday began his own culinary excellence with Aramark Nov. 4, 2004.

“Joseph’s dedication to his trade and the university became evident during the ACE chef's competition, claiming first place and the top prize amongst a group of regional culinary professionals,” said Robert Hoag, director of dining services at 鶹ý. “When you consider his commitment to excellence and quality, Joseph continues to raise the bar for the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Aramark. We wish Joe good luck in New Orleans at the national
competition from all of us.”

The ACE competition recognizes and rewards outstanding chefs within the organization while allowing them the opportunity to share their culinary talents with a broader audience in an ambitious and innovative environment.
