Sorority sponsors Columbia professor's lecture

The Lambda Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will sponsor "Let's Talk about Sex" Monday, March 26 at the Monroe Civic Center at 7 p.m.

This is a free event and is open to the community. The speaker will be Hilda Hutcherson, a gynecologist, associate dean of medicine at Columbia University, and the author of several books, including "What Your Mother Never Told You About Sex." She has been a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and the Montel Williams Show. She has been featured in Glamour and Essence Magazine.

Hutcherson will address: knowing your body, how and when to talk about physical intimacy, medical concerns and any other issues the audience would like to discuss.

Hutcherson spoke at a national conference that members of Delta Sigma Theta attended. According to chapter member Jassoni Young, the students were impressed with her wisdom and the wealth of information she shared. "We hope this event will help the people in the community to become more educated and able to make informed decisions." The event is intended for men as well as women.
