Meet artist Carole Robb Oct. 22
The public is encouraged to meet an amazing artist during a reception Monday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. in Bry Art Gallery, located at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The artist will also appear during a Gallery Talk at 2 p.m., also in Bry Art Gallery. Both events, sponsored by the School of Visual and Performing Events, are free and open to the public.
Bry Art Gallery will be showcasing Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Carole Robb Oct. 22 - Nov. 21. Robb has a studio in Rome, Italy and in New York City, where she lives and works.
Robb was born in Scotland and received her BFA in Painting from the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland, and her MFA from the University of Reading, England, where she studied with Terry Frost. Her numerous awards include the Prix de Rome, British Arts Council Major Award in Painting, Fulbright Fellowship, and a GL Fondazione Fellowship to Venice, Italy.
Her solo exhibitions include the South London Gallery and Museum, London; J.T. Fassbinder, Berlin; Forum Gallery, New York City, and C’a D’Oro Gallery, Rome. Public collections include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City; Imperial War Museum, London, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
Robb has taught at the Slade School of Fine Art, London; Royal College of Art, London, and the American University, Rome. She currently teaches Painting at the New York Studio School in New York City.
