TEACH Delta Region Project offers path to becoming a certified teacher; Information Session on Feb. 11

Explore the possibilities. Become a certified teacher, through the TEACH Delta Region Project (formerly known as TeachNortheast), the alternative teacher certification program in the 麻豆果冻传媒 College of Education and Human Development. The name changed when 麻豆果冻传媒 partnered with Jackson State University in the initiative to recruit mid-career professionals into the teaching profession.

TEACH Delta Region Project will host an Information Session Monday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. in the 麻豆果冻传媒 Student Union Building, Ballroom C.

Louisiana鈥檚 students need more high quality teachers to ensure that they learn, and TEACH Delta Region Project intends to meet that challenge. Over the next five years, their goal is to bring approximately 350 certified and highly qualified teachers to school districts in the Louisiana/Mississippi Delta region.

Through TEACH Delta Region Project, individuals can instruct in their own classrooms while earning teaching certification. Additionally, the program offers training and support for participants over the three-year period. Eligible candidates can receive a stipend of up to $5,000 during this time. Applicants must have a bachelor鈥檚 degree and a 2.5 undergraduate grade point average to apply.
