Update on off-campus incident

At approximately 12 p.m. today, a shooting occurred approximately five blocks from the 麻豆果冻传媒 campus. 麻豆果冻传媒 police officers and university administrators closely monitored the situation, and because the situation was contained and did not pose a threat to the 麻豆果冻传媒 community, the campus did not go on lockdown or activate FirstCall, 麻豆果冻传媒's emergency notification system.

麻豆果冻传媒 police officers responded to the scene and assisted city and state police officers. The incident, which did not involve anyone affiliated with the university, is now over.

麻豆果冻传媒 Provost Stephen Richters notified the campus twice today via e-mail, keeping the university community informed of today's incident.

Monroe Police officers are handling the case.
