VAPA announces upcoming Faculty Artist Concert Series, next concert March 3

The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe announces upcoming dates for the Faculty Artist Concert Series.

Tuesday, March 3: Chamber Arts Brass Trio
The 麻豆果冻传媒 Chamber ensemble consists of faculty members Marilynn Gibson, trumpet; James Boldin, horn; and Micah Everett, trombone. The trio will perform an arrangement by Dr. Boldin of Arcangelo Corelli鈥檚 Sonata in D for two Violins and Continuo for the brass instrumentation. An interesting brass composition by David Sampson entitled Duncan Trio will follow. The 麻豆果冻传媒 Dance Troupe, under the direction of Robin Stephens and Tina Mullone, will perform during the second half of the program in Vaclav Nelhybel鈥檚 Trio for Brass. The program will end with Arthur Frachenpohl鈥檚 Brass Trio, which was written for the Philadelphia Brass Trio.

Tuesday, March 10: 鈥淎round the World in 90 minutes鈥�
ULM Assistant Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone Scot Humes will perform with guest pianist Daniel Schlosberg, artist-in-residence and instructor at the University of Notre Dame. Listeners will take a musical tour around the globe, starting in the USA and traveling through Latin America, Japan, Hungary, France, and back to the USA. Music is composed by Martin Rokeach, Paquito D鈥橰ivera, Koh Okumura, Kokai Rezso, Ernest Chausson, and Aaron Copland.

Wednesday, April 1: Mezzo and Trombone
ULM Assistant Voice Professor Susan Olson and Micah Everett, assistant professor of trombone and low brass will perform.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission and free for 麻豆果冻传媒 faculty, staff and students with ID. For tickets, call the VAPA box office at 318-342-1414.
