LCWG Hall of Fame to induct Monroe native March 28

Rosemary Ewing, a Neville High School graduate, will be inducted this year into the Louisiana Center for Women and Government鈥檚 Hall of Fame, following her nomination by the local LCWG Leadership Council at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Ewing will be honored for her outstanding public service Saturday, March 28, at a luncheon at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside. Ewing, now a resident of Quitman, was the first female board chairman of Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services Inc. She also served as chair of Lincoln Parish American Heart Walk; president of the Louisiana Legislative Wives Auxiliary; board member of the Louisiana Council on Child Abuse; and advisory board member for the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Other Hall of Fame honorees include Anne Milling of New Orleans, also a Neville graduate, Phyllis Mayo of Baton Rouge and Lily B. Moskal of Lafayette.

Rhonda Adams Jones, director of 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Division of Continuing Education, heads the local chapter of the LCWG. Jones said that each year, the LCWG selects a maximum of four women to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and Ewing was her chapter鈥檚 nominee this year.

Ewing is not the first nominee submitted by the local chapter. Jones also submitted the nomination papers for Kitty DeGree, who was selected last year as a Hall of Fame inductee. In 2007, the chapter nominated Pinkie Wilkerson posthumously, and she was also selected as an inductee into the LCWG Hall of Fame.

The Louisiana Center for Women and Government is housed at Nicholls State University, joining 麻豆果冻传媒 as a member of the University of Louisiana System. The center promotes the leadership of women by providing resources and non-partisan support through educational workshops, training seminars and outreach programs.

Tickets to the awards ceremony are $50 each and include a coffee at 10:30 a.m., followed by the noon luncheon and awards ceremony. For reservations, contact the center at 985-448-4770.
