Wilson to speak at national Kant Society meeting April 24
Professor of philosophy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe Holly L. Wilson, Ph.D., will present a paper titled "The Pragmatic Use of Kant's Physical Geography Lectures" at the Eastern Study Group of the North American Kant Society at Penn State University April 24.
"This is an exciting opportunity to present my research into pragmatic philosophy to the leading Kant scholars in the United States,” Wilson said. “I am so delighted that other philosophers are beginning to realize the importance of philosophy that is meant to make a difference in the world by being concerned about what all human beings have a common interest in."
Wilson's paper is part of a larger research project into the 18th Century German Enlightenment's theories of Prudence and Pragmatic Philosophy.
The paper will be published in a book on Kant's Physical Geography by the State University of New York Press.
