PREP sessions at 麻豆果冻传媒 filling fast; next available session to occur June 17-18

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's PREP (Preview, Registration and Enrollment Program) season will begin with two already full sessions June 3-4 and June 10-11. Future sessions will be on the following Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout June (June 17-18 and 24-25).

PREP is a two-day program designed to help new students make a smooth transition to college life. All incoming freshmen who live in Louisiana or a contiguous state (Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas) are required to attend one of the PREP sessions, during which they select fall classes, scope out the campus and meet fellow classmates. The participants also meet with faculty and administrators, take necessary placement exams, change majors if needed, and make course selections. The students will leave PREP with a completed schedule of classes for the fall semester.

Students who live outside of the above area are encouraged to attend. The PREP program is funded through a matriculation fee and will be added to all freshmen tuition and fee bills. The fee covers orientation materials, most meals, and entertainment while at PREP. Students not able to attend one of the June sessions will receive assistance by phone and Internet in addition to an evening orientation session Aug. 24.

Placement testing, CLEP testing, and Foreign Language Placement testing will be offered the day prior to PREP. Individuals may register for exams when registering for PREP. For more information, go to: .

Sessions are limited in size and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information and to register online, please visit the PREP Web site at .

Individuals may also contact the PREP Hotline at 318-342-7315 or 800-372-5127 or by email at prep@ulm.edu.

The Parent Orientation Program coincides with PREP and allows parents the opportunity to see firsthand where students will live, eat and socialize. Parents will also be able to speak with faculty and staff. Sessions will be offered on paying tuition and fees, scholarships, financial aid, and on-campus housing.

The fee for POP is $35 for a single guest or two guests for $60, and $15 each for children under 12. The fee covers the cost of orientation materials and most meals while in the program. All fees are nonrefundable.
