Quota and 麻豆果冻传媒 team up to help elementary students with speech/hearing impairments

The long partnership between the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the Quota Club of Monroe was further strengthened Friday, April 24, when 麻豆果冻传媒 students participated in the first Speech and Hearing Day at Kiroli Park in West Monroe.

The free event, intended to become an annual occurrence, was sponsored by Quota International of Monroe and was intended for all elementary children with any speech and/or hearing impairment. 麻豆果冻传媒 Level Three School of Nursing students and 麻豆果冻传媒 Speech-Language Pathology Department students assisted with activities such as organized playtime, nature walks and face painting.

Also on hand was the West Monroe Fire Department with its Smokehouse, and the Ouachita Parish K-9 Unit Demo. Lunch, a T-shirt and a goody bag were provided to each child.

Quota member Brenda Taylor, also an accountant for 麻豆果冻传媒, said, 鈥淨uota thanks all of the students from 麻豆果冻传媒 Speech-Language Pathology and the School of Nursing for their participation to make this first annual Speech and Hearing Day such a success.鈥�

Quota has a history of supporting Speech-Language and Pathology. Most recently on January 27, the Quota Club of Monroe presented a $1,500 check to the department to purchase table and chairs for the 麻豆果冻传媒 Speech and Hearing Clinic.

Amy Crawford, Quota Speech and Hearing chair, presented the check to 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Johanna Boult, Ph.D., interim department head, and Clinic Director Donna Thomas.

Other Speech and Hearing committee members present were Twila Crockett and 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Taylor. The Quota Club of Monroe has previously helped provide equipment and assistance to the Speech and Hearing Clinic.
