Āé¶¹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ to host a reading by local author April 14

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s English department will host a reading from author and north Louisiana native William Caverlee at 7 p.m. on April 14 in the Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Caverlee will read from his recently published book ā€œAmid the Swirling Ghosts,ā€ a collection of literary essays and feature stories from throughout his life. The topics range from William Faulkner and Flannery O’Connor to ā€œPistolā€ Pete Maravich and Bonnie and Clyde, with many more subjects in between.

Caverlee’s writings have appeared in several publications including ā€œThe Christian Science Monitor,ā€ ā€œThe Cimarron Reviewā€ and ā€œLouisiana Literature.ā€ He’s also a contributing writer to ā€œThe Oxford American.ā€
