Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ Healthy Hawks and Kinesiology submit PSAs

University of Louisiana at Monroe student organization Healthy Hawks recently partnered with a kinesiology course to produce public service announcements for The BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) Network’sā„¢ ā€œSpring Breakā€ campaign.

The university and community based network focuses on comprehensive health and safety initiatives. The Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ students submitted PSAs concerning safety while on spring break, sexually transmitted diseases, stalking, and eating disorders.
The campaign features a competition between 14 schools across the country, in which voters may choose the PSA they think best exemplifies ways students can have a safer spring break.

ā€œThe PSA was the class’ attempt to use social marketing to increase awareness about health behaviors before, during, and after Spring Break,ā€ said Dr. Mark Doherty, associate professor of kinesiology and the Healthy Hawks’ faculty advisor.
