Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ Rad Tech students achieve perfect passage rate

The University of Louisiana at Monroeā€™s Radiologic Technology programā€™s 2012 spring graduating class achieved a 100 percent first-time passage rate on the registry national exam.

The 2011 graduating class achieved the same feat.

The registry national is the exam every radiologic technologist must pass to become a registered technologist and earn a national level of certification.

"The faculty continue to prepare these students to be the best entry level technologists they can be,ā€ said Brett Bennett, assistant professor and head of Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½'s Department of Radiologic Technology.

ā€œThis score, when added to the recent history, is just one measure of that dedication and our success.ā€

The designation of ā€œfirst-time passage rateā€ indicates a measure of success for the program.

Candidates can take the exam up to four times, but Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ā€™s graduating radiologic technologists each passed on their first attempt.

The test is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, which determines which criteria a program must meet for its graduates to be able to take the registry exam.

In addition, 100 percent of Ā鶹¹ū¶³“«Ć½ā€™s radiologic technology graduates were awarded Louisiana licensesā€”another accomplishment that was achieved in 2011.

Louisiana awards its licenses for radiologic technology based on the passing of the national registry exam.
