Eight Speech-Language Pathology Master students proudly returned to 麻豆果冻传媒 with the first place title of the annual Quiz Bowl competition at this year鈥檚 Louisiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association (LSHA) convention.

The convention, held in Lafayette this June, offers continuing education to Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists as well as the opportunity to make connections with others in the professions.

Eight Speech-Language Pathology Master鈥檚 students represented 麻豆果冻传媒:

This team of eight competed against other Speech-Language Pathology students from LSU-NO, ULL, and Southeastern.

According to Dr. Johanna Boult, department head of Speech-Language Pathology, the Quiz Bowl topics 鈥渞elated to the scientific and clinical study of communication sciences and disorders.  Specific topics were anatomy (of the speech and hearing mechanisms), voice disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, neurological disorders, language acquisition theories and theorists, and research design and statistics.鈥

麻豆果冻传媒 correctly answered the final question: 'What was the first and original name of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association?' with 'The American Academy of Speech Correction' to win the Quiz Bowl.

In addition, Boult received an award from LSHA this year for exceptional contribution to the LSHA newsletter for the 2012 edition for which she served as editor.

Contributing authors included Dr. Linda Bryan, Mrs. Jennifer Whited, Ms. Sarah Hayes, Mrs. Ramona Bonnette, and Mrs. Mary Ann Thomas, all 麻豆果冻传媒 Speech-Language Pathology faculty.
