麻豆果冻传媒 College of Business honors academic excellence at honors banquet

The College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Monroe held its 44th Annual Honors Banquet Friday, May 4, in the 麻豆果冻传媒 Library Conference Center to honor outstanding students in the College of Business Administration.

The highest award given to a graduate from the College of Business Administration was the 2011-2012 Dean's Award of Excellence, presented to Fernando Cordova of Monroe. He received $1,000.

He also received the Outstanding Graduate in Accounting Award and the Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding Undergraduate Award.

The 2011-2012 Distinguished Scholar Award, which included $750, was presented to Gregory C. Stuart of Calhoun.

The 2011-2012 Outstanding Scholar Award, which included $500, went to Benjamin T. Winkler of Springhill. He also received the Outstanding Graduate in Management Award.

The 2011-2012 Award of Commendation, which included $250, went to Jeremy Putnam of Oak Grove. He also received the Outstanding Graduate in Computer Science Award.

Outstanding awards by program included:

Logan Cloessner of Jonesville was selected by the graduate faculty of the College of Business Administration as the Outstanding Master of Business Administration Graduate for the 2011 calendar year.

Chad Reetz of Weatherford, Texas received the Outstanding Graduate in Aviation Award.

Courtney Williams of Alexandria received the Outstanding Graduate in Computer Information Systems Award.

Mallory Murphy of Bastrop received the Outstanding Graduate in Construction Management Award.

Jodie Marie Odom of Farmerville received the Outstanding Graduate in Entrepreneurship Award.

Jacob McCain of Winnsboro received the Outstanding Graduate in Finance Award.

Vivian Polak of Barendrecht, Netherlands, received the Outstanding Graduate in General Business Award.

Lindsey A. Atkins of Bastrop received the Outstanding Graduate in Marketing Award.

Claudia Williams of Mangham received the Outstanding Graduate in Risk Management and Insurance Award.

Graduating senior awards were presented to students who have stayed the course to graduation and have distinguished themselves in their major.

Selected were:

Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honorary fraternity for collegiate business students, also selected its outstanding students.

The Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding Junior Scholarship, which included a $1,000 scholarship for 2012-2013, was awarded to Morgan Huggins of West Monroe, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding Undergraduate Award was presented to Fernando Cordova of Monroe.

The Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding MBA members are Kevin Goldman of Monroe and Mecky Leung of Hong Kong.

Undergraduates inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma in the Spring are:

Nancy Blankenship, Jason Conville, Tammy Diller, and Morgan Huggins of West Monroe; Ethan Rappold, Lindsey Remides and Nathan Thompson of Monroe; Alexis Hebert and Lynden Lyles of Alexandria; Kathleen Bourgeois of Lockport; Tammy Delatte of St. Francisville; Chelsea Drinkwater of Deville;

Tim Hardham of Melbourne, Australia; Yan Jiang of Bastrop; Jamie Mock of Delhi; Andrew Perez of Shreveport; Kristen Purcell of Rayville; Stephani Stephens of Gilbert; Karalee Stoddard of Sterlington; and Lina Svensson Lagergren of Sweden.

Master of Business Administration students recognized for Beta Gamma Sigma membership include Logan Cloessner of Jonesville and Kevin Goldman of Monroe.

Kate Adriaensen of Belgium and Hannah Livingston of Jonesboro received Second Recognition.
