麻豆果冻传媒's Keeney featured in article about reimagining psychotherapy
Dr. Bradford Keeney, University of Louisiana at Monroe professor in educational leadership and counseling and Hanna Spyker Eminent Scholars Chair in Education, and Dr. Hillary Keeney, distinguished visiting professor at Benem茅rita Universidad Aut贸noma de Puebla, Mexico, are featured in the article, "Reimagining Psychotherapy: An Interview with Hillary and Bradford Keeney," by Paul Gibney.
Published in "Psychotherapy in Australia," (May, 2012), the journal editor writes: "Bradford Keeney, one of the great thinkers of family therapy, and Hillary Keeney, a scholar of cybernetics and creative transformation, offer a wake up call to therapists to reinvent their practice, and recognize that models dumb them down and prevent them from finding their own gifts and talents."
The Keeneys suggest that psychotherapy be infused with newfound vitality, compassion, creative inspiration, and take-action responsibility.
They also believe that wisdom is not voiced inside psychological theory. It is found inside the more complex weave of poetry, theatre, music, and dance.
What they call "wisdom-based therapy" belongs to the wider expanse provided inside the humanities and performing arts.
The article concludes that the Keeneys work "might be the frame of psychotherapy's next evolutionary space."
