麻豆果冻传媒 Residential Life staff win awards

Michael Davis, assistant director for housing at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, received a Service Award from the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO) during their annual conference in Atlanta, Ga., in early March.

This award offers institutions the opportunity to recognize a staff member who has made a significant contribution to residence hall students and housing organizations.

Winners are chosen after nominations from their institution鈥檚 Chief Housing Officer.

Tresea Buckhaults, director of Residential Life at 麻豆果冻传媒, said she nominated Davis because, 鈥淗e has shown his commitment to making his area of responsibility run not only smoother, but also more efficiently. He is always willing to go above and beyond for our department as well as our residents.鈥�

According to their website, SEAHO draws its open membership from the 10 southeastern states of the United States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.)

The purpose of the association is to provide an opportunity to college and university housing officers for personal and professional growth through attendance at an annual conference, and to facilitate an exchange of ideas and dialogue with professional colleagues.

Also in early March, Dr. Calvin Bailey, assistant director of 麻豆果冻传媒 Residential Life, and three resident assistants鈥擪im Olney of Gassville, Ark., Rino Nicholas of Thibodaux, and Kayla Matthews of Zachary鈥攁ttended the Equipping Resident Assistants (ERA) Conference in Forest Hill.

During the conference, the 麻豆果冻传媒 resident assistant team was selected by a committee to present their program, 鈥淒omestic Violence on college Campuses.鈥�

Bailey was awarded the Louisiana Housing Officers (LAHO) Distinguished Service Award, which is presented to a professional who has served a minimum of 10 years in higher education or related field, has at least five years experience in housing/residence life, and is currently serving in a mid-to-upper level management position while demonstrating exemplary commitment to students and the profession.

The LAHO is noted as a membership of professionals who are dedicated to the education, professional development, and promotion of housing and residential life services at private and public institutions of higher education and learning in Louisiana.
