KEDM Public Radio at Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ to host “Policy and a Pint†in Ruston May 21
At 5 p.m., on Tuesday, May 21, KEDM Public Radio will host its newest installment of “Policy and a Pint†at Portico Restaurant in Ruston.
“Policy and a Pint opens discussion of important issues in Northeast Louisiana,†says KEDM Interim General Manager Jay Curtis.
“It’s an informal atmosphere, but explores policies and topics that matter to everyone who calls this area home. We’re pleased to extend the scope of the event to listeners in Lincoln Parish.â€
The public is encouraged to participate with questions and comments on economic development in Lincoln Parish and the city of Ruston.
The forum is free and open to the public.
KEDM News Director Bob Lenox will moderate a panel of experts including Louisiana Tech University Economics Professor Dr. John Francis, Ruston Board of Aldermen member Jedd Lewis, and past President of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Scott Terry.
The panelists will provide insight on recent projects and economic growth.
“When talking to people about a topic for discussion in Ruston, economic development was always the first thing mentioned, and Ruston is a prime example of growth even during tough economic times,†says Lenox.
The “Policy and a Pint†series is designed to provide access to experts on community issues in a casual setting.
The last event, held in February, addressed school safety in local districts.
KEDM Public Radio—located at 250 Stubbs Hall on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus—is a community partner dedicated to improving the quality of life in the listening area.
