AnneÌýLockhartÌýis a Dallas, Texas native, but has called Monroe home since she was ten years old. Anne is a graduate of Neville High School and the University of Louisiana Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.
Anne has worked and volunteered in the Monroe community for over 46 years, the first 25 years in the commercial banking industry, working her way from an entry level teller position in 1971 to Senior Vice President – Commercial Lending, and ultimately to Senior Vice President and Director for Corporate Business Development for Regions Bank.
In June 1996, Anne accepted the challenge of heading up Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½'s Development Office, and has been professionally fundraising for the university for nearly 21 years.ÌýAnne will retire from Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ next month, officially transitioning to new journeys and adventures on April 30.
An important part of Anne's career in banking and higher education is her representative involvement in service for her church, community, and alma mater.
This involvement has provided her opportunities for several volunteer leadership roles. Some key community roles include serving as Board Chairman for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Campaign Chairman; twice serving as Board Chairman for the United Way of Northeast Louisiana; several committee chairmanships and the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Monroe; and the Wellspring Community Advisory Board.
Anne and her husband Jim, who is manager of Monroe's Lotus Club, recently celebrated their 42nd anniversary. Their daughter Lauren and son-in-law Andy live and work in New Orleans, and are also very involved community volunteers in NOLA. No doubt more road trips to NOLA are at the top of Anne’s retirement bucket list!

The Legacy Award Winner displays tangible leadership, is honest and of high integrity, treats others with respect, and is a positive role model. Emphasis is given to Legacy Award nominees whose accomplishments have impacted future generations of women.
