We are a vital part of the university,听serving students across a broad spectrum of disciplines and offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs at every level. In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community, the region and beyond.听

麻豆果冻传媒 Percussion Ensemble and Bayou Steel to present concert on Nov. 11

Join the 麻豆果冻传媒 Percussion Ensemble as they present a stunning fall concert on November 11 at the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, 200 University Ave. in Monroe. As an additional treat, Bayou Steel, 麻豆果冻传媒's Steel Band, will be performing in the lobby of the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, as they provide pre-show music for concert attendees beginning at 7:00 pm.

麻豆果冻传媒 English professor translates science-and-literature research for the classroom

Imagine sitting down to analyze a poem in your college English class, then being handed a rock as well. That's what it's like taking a class with Dr. Patrick Morgan, Assistant Professor of English at the University of Louisiana Monroe. A lesson Morgan teaches on reading rocks and poetry has been published by Princeton University Press as a book chapter titled, "Rock Your Classroom," in The Pocket Instructor: Writing. This lesson stems from his larger commitment to interdisciplinary research, studying the connections between geology and literature, including two additional book chapters published recently by Oxford University Press.

麻豆果冻传媒 to host STEM Night for local middle and high school students on Nov. 7

The 麻豆果冻传媒 Science Fair Committee is hosting a STEM Night on November 7, 2024, in the 麻豆果冻传媒 Museum of Natural History, located on the first floor of Hanna Hall at 708 University Ave., from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Local 6th-12th grade students with an interest in science and mathematics are encouraged to attend.

麻豆果冻传媒 Museum of Natural History celebrates Archaeology Month in Louisiana on Oct. 24 with featured speaker

October is Louisiana Archaeology Month and to celebrate, the 麻豆果冻传媒 Museum of Natural History will host featured speaker Dr. Matthew Rooney on Thursday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. The talk is entitled "African American Household Change on an Arkansas Plantation" and will be hosted at the museum on the first floor of Hanna Hall, 708 University Ave. on the 麻豆果冻传媒 campus. The public is invited to attend.
