Classes beginning on or after 11:00 a.m.Ìýtomorrow, Thurs. Oct. 16,Ìýwill meet.

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ has been informed that restoration of power may not be completed until approximately 6:30 p.m. This does not allow our maintenance staff to conduct inspections of our system until lateÌýtonight.

Offices will also reopenÌýtomorrowÌýat 11:00 a.m.

Dining services and activity center will open at normal hours.

We will communicate againÌýtomorrowÌýat 9 a.m. if additional changes are required.

Please note:ÌýKEDM''s Big Band Blast set forÌýThursday, Oct. 16 has been rescheduled for Oct. 23.

Update: October 14, 2014: 8:21 p.m.

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ was informed that Entergy will interrupt powerÌýto the main campus tomorrow to restore power to surrounding neighborhoods.ÌýAll classes and offices will be closed tomorrow in order to allow EntergyÌýto conduct their work.Ìý This includes the library and SUB.

We do not expect power to be interrupted in the residence halls, SchultzÌýdining hall, the Activity Center, and athletic facilities. InternetÌýshould be available. These facilities will be open tomorrow.

This closure will be for the entire day. We willÌýplan to resume normal operations at the usual times on Thursday, OctoberÌý16.ÌýPharm D students should report to Bienville for classes as scheduled butÌýshould check the pharmacy facebook page for updates.

All Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ classes and offices will resume their normal schedules tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 15, 2014.Ìý

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Police willÌýprovide some suggested routes and parking since University Drive continues to be closed between DeSiard and McGuire St.ÌýYou are urged to avoid areas that are barricaded.Ìý

Dr. Benny Blaylock, Dean of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences will be communicating with pharmacy students to provide location of their classes tomorrow.Ìý

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ staff have worked very hard to prepare the campus for your return and to resume our normal schedule.

UPDATE: October 14, 2014 9:50 a.m.

As a result of the continued closure of streets in the Monroe, West Monroe area and in order to continue the cleanup followingÌýyesterday’s severe weather, all classes are cancelled the remainder ofÌýtoday.Ìý

All offices and campus services will remain open following their regular schedules.Ìý Employees whose homes have been impacted by the storm should work with their respective supervisors regarding their work schedule.Ìý

The Activity Center will be available for faculty and staff to utilize shower facilities as needed and normal operational hours will be followed.Ìý Those choosing to utilize the activity center should bring towels and required toiletries.Ìý

All food operations and will also be open normal hours.Ìý

Another update will be issued at 4:00 p.m.ÌýtodayÌýregardingÌýtomorrow’s schedule.Ìý

University officials have continued to monitor the situation on campus and efforts to clean up and remove debris have begun.Ìý

At this time, power has been restored to all residence halls and apartments on campus. The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Library and Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ food services remain open to serve the university community.
Officials will reassess campus in the morning and will notify students and faculty of any further closure by 9 a.m.
At this time, offices are slated to reopen at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, and classes are to begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday.

Original Story:

As a result of the severe weather which passed through our campus this morning, and the resulting damages, classes beginning at 2 p.m. or later today, Monday Oct. 13, will be cancelled.

Any classes already underway at 2 p.m. shall continue at the discretion of the instructor. Classes will resume at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Those offices whose function is to provide our resident student services including library, residential life and food services will continue their normal schedule.

In addition, university police and physical plant will remain open. The president’s office as well as the vice presidents and deans will remain open to address student needs and respond to any questions.

All other offices are closed, effective 2 p.m. today and return to work at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14.
