鶹ý culture connection presents “Embracing our Differences”

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Culture Connection—a social and educational space where students, faculty, and community members can gather to share their culture and learn about new cultures—will host “Embracing Our Differences: Languages, Cultures, & Traditions,” from 4-6 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 10 in George T. Walker Hall, Room 2-101, on the 鶹ý campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Culture Connection hosts a series of multicultural events, which are geared toward helping students, faculty, and families feel more welcome at 鶹ý, while creating social connections within the community.

The presentations will feature various visiting professors and current 鶹ý international students.

The schedule is as follows:

Dr. Marohang Limbu, professor of English writing at Michigan State University, will present “Networked World: My Personal and Professional Growth,” from 4- 4:25 p.m.

Dr. Charlotte Foster, professor of education at Missouri Western State, will present “Diversity and Inclusion: Culture of Class Participation” from 4:30 – 4:55 p.m.

Stanley Owusu Danso, a 鶹ý international student from Ghana, will present “Ghana: Arts, Culture and Celebrations,” from 5-5:10 p.m.

Yi-an Lin, a 鶹ý international student from Taiwan, will present “Taiwanese Cuisine: Ingredients and Culture,” from 5:10-5:20 p.m.

Danielle Adams will present “America Life in the South: Our Identity and Culture,” from 5:20-5:30 p.m.

Sadaf Ramazani, an international student from Iran, will present “Iran: The New Look of Persia,” from 5:30-5:40 p.m.

International students from India, Krunali Bhagat and Sandeep Pallerla, will present “India: The Land of Festivals & Monuments,” from 5:40-5:50 p.m.; and Eunhui Kim from South Korea will present “South Korea: One of Asia’s Most Intriguing and Vibrant Countries,” from 5:50-6 p.m.

Refreshments will be provided.
