The University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚 Child Development Center will host its annual
spring community service project鈥攖he Mardi Gras Parade Trike-A-Thon for St. Jude鈥檚
Children鈥檚 Research Hospital. The event teaches children about the importance of service.
The project also serves a platform to help teach children about tricycle safety, which
is taught in classroom lessons leading up to the parade.
The parade will begin at the 麻豆果冻传媒 Child Development Center at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb.
13. The center is located on Cole Ave. in Monroe.
The center participates in one community service project each semester. Students have
also collected toiletries for the homeless, and assembled Christmas boxes for charity.
King Mitchell Hendrix and Queen Abigail Bruscato will serve as grand marshals for
the event.
