麻豆果冻传媒 announces winners of Region III Social Studies Fair

The University of Louisiana at Monroe hosted the 2015 Region III Social Studies Fair on Thursday, March 26 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The event marked the 49th consecutive year in which 麻豆果冻传媒 has hosted the fair. Participants included more than 600 students from various parishes across northeastern Louisiana.

麻豆果冻传媒 awarded a $1,200 scholarship to Kerry Doyle of West Ouachita High School and an $800 scholarship to Brandon Ingles of West Ouachita High School.

All students in grades six through 12 who participated in the fair were invited to attend the Northeast Louisiana History Day at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe, on Saturday, March 28.

First and second place winners of the fair are eligible to participate in the Louisiana State Social Studies Fair at McNeese State University on Wednesday, April 29. A total of 83 projects are eligible to advance to the state fair.

The fair also included a Program Cover Design Contest. Reagan Henderson of Baskin Jr. High School won the contest, and her design was placed on the cover of the program for the fair.

Runners-up for the contest were: Alayna Dunn of Lakeshore Elementary School, Andie Flint of Union Central Elementary School, and Delaney Nicole Herring of Swartz Upper Elementary School. Each of these participants received cash awards.

The Region III Social Studies Fair is a joint project of the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, and the College of Business and Social Sciences.

Drs. Jerrilene Washington and John Sutherlin serve as co-directors of the fair. Drs. Kioh Kim, Shalanda Stanley, Neil White, and Ms. Susan Jennings are assistant directors. Lezlee Shauf and Malynda Tyson serve as graduate assistants.
