The School of Humanities and聽Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi recently聽initiated
nine new members.聽Sigma Delta Pi is the national honor society in Spanish and was
founded in 1919.聽The 麻豆果冻传媒 chapter initiated its first members in 1976.聽
The ceremony was conducted by Madeline Webb, president,聽with help from Iren聽Marinova,
vice president,聽Kady聽Coulon, secretary and聽Yoximar聽Araujo聽and Sarah Harris.聽
The new initiates are Tyler聽Aulds, Accounting聽major from West Monroe; Danielle Crawford,
Kinesiology major from Monroe; Kylie聽Kukowski, Spanish education major from Grand
Rapids, Michigan; Long Ly, Monroe biology student; Allison Ogden, Spanish education
major from聽Crowville;聽Abigayle聽Reed, Communication major from聽Bastrop;聽Ethan Sims,
Psychology聽and Modern Language major from Calhoun; Ben聽Thoms, Spanish major from West
Monroe; and Mary Wyatt, Speech Language Pathology major from Ball.聽
Members must have completed a course in Spanish culture and civilization or literature
or have studied abroad.聽They must also have at least a 3.2 overall聽GPA and a 3.0 GPA
in Spanish.
