鶹ý podcast ‘Ace on Air’ soars on streaming platforms

鶹ý Office of Marketing and Communication’s has launched a new podcast series called “Ace on Air.” The podcast focuses on campus and community topics while spotlighting alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

Biweekly episodes are hosted by Executive Director of Marketing and University Communications Kelsey Bohl, Ed.D., and Assistant Director of Student Experience Ahmaad Solmone. Their free-spirited conversational style, combined with their love for 鶹ý brings out the best in each interviewee.

The first episode, entitled, “Patience is a long time,” aired Thursday, Oct. 1, and features 鶹ý’s ninth President Ronald Berry, DMA, and First Lady Christine Berry, Ph.D. The episode gives listeners an inside look into the Berrys’ personal life and President Berry’s experiences during the first few weeks in his new position.

If you’ve wondered how the Warhawk came to be the 鶹ý mascot, listen to the conversation with Nell Calloway, the granddaughter of World War II aviator Major Gen. Claire Lee Chennault. Calloway is president and CEO of Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe. Learn more about the history of a local hero and 鶹ý in episode two, “Becoming the Warhawk.”

The first female vice president of 鶹ý, Valerie Fields, Ed.D., Vice President for Student Affairs, shares her journey from a 鶹ý student to an entrepreneur and a career in academic administration. Get to know Fields in the third episode, “Shoulders to stand on,” and why she believes mentorship is essential on the journey to success.

The most recent episode aired Thursday, Nov. 12, with Professor of Political Science Joshua Stockley, Ph.D. In this episode, listeners can expect discussions on the current political climate and Stockley’s views on “The beauty of American democracy.”

Episodes are released biweekly on Thursdays and each episode is 20-40 minutes. To listen to the podcast, tune in on Spotify, iTunes, Stitcher, or Google Podcasts. Listeners are encouraged to provide feedback and submit guest ideas for the show by emailing omc@ulm.edu.
