麻豆果冻传媒 School of Allied Health recognizes outstanding students

麻豆果冻传媒 School of Allied Health in the College of Health Sciences, announces the Spring 2021 Undergraduate and Graduate Student Awards.

鈥淭he Outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate Student Award - Recognition of Excellenceprovides an opportunity for the SOAH to recognize the achievements and outstanding work of our undergraduate and graduate students,鈥 said Allied Health Program Coordinator Jessica Dolecheck, Ph.D.

The 2021 SOAH Awards committee is commended for their work on facilitating the nomination process and acknowledging our awardees for their distinguished performance within their programs, the School of Allied Health, and the College of Health Science.

Spring 2021 SOAH Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award

The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award honors an undergraduate student who demonstrates exceptional scholarship, character, and service.

Candidates for the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award shall display:

  • Noteworthy academic accomplishments

  • Excellent character in interactions with peers and faculty

  • Meritorious service to the community, college or university, student organizations

The Spring 2021 SOAH Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award recipient is Julie Carver, Health Studies Healthcare Management/Marketing major.

Julie Carver is a senior in the Bachelor of Science in Health Studies - Marketing and Management track and will graduate in Fall 2021 with a minor in Risk Management/Insurance. She maintains a 3.9 GPA. Carver is an adult learner with a diverse work background who exhibits character and a passion for learning. She is a self-driven, thoughtful individual and enthusiastically seeks ways to enhance her knowledge about healthcare, leadership, and the business world.

Carver is actively involved in Gamma Iota Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and the International Associate of Insurance Professionals Organization where she participates in pertinent topics and presentations about healthcare and risk management issues. 听Carver offers a sense of maturity, humility and a cheerful nature who is always open to feedback 鈥 characteristics that will serve her well in the future. In addition, Carver constantly displays a professional attitude and serves as an excellent mentor for her peers. The Health Studies faculty consider Julie Carver a very talented student with budding leadership potential in the healthcare field.

Spring 2021 SOAH Outstanding Graduate Student Award recipient is Jessica Reynolds, Master of Science in Exercise Science.

Jessica Reynolds, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Exercise Science major, is a bright, articulate, and professional student who has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is at the top of her class in the Exercise Science graduate program at 麻豆果冻传媒.

Reynolds is an exceptional student who handles rigorous graduate coursework with the teaching and research obligations of a graduate assistant, while managing her family and outside responsibilities extremely well. Reynolds taught several exercise physiology lab sections and her performance was outstanding. The Kinesiology faculty note that she is a natural teacher with a personality and demeanor that lends itself to working with and helping undergraduates.

听In addition, she exemplifies the heart of a servant with a deep belief of being responsible for her community. She is involved in several service projects, 听such as the DeSiard Street Shelter, hospitality and welcome ministry, mission trips to Mexico and many disaster-relief ministries in her community. The Kinesiology faculty consider Reynolds a great asset to their graduate program who has strengthened the Kinesiology undergraduate educational program through her passion and dedication to teaching.

Spring 2021 SOAH Outstanding Graduate Student nominee is Auldyn Leblanc 鈥 Speech-Language Pathology
