MONROE, LA 鈥� Amwins, a leading national specialty insurance provider, recently recommitted its
giving to the 麻豆果冻传媒 Risk Management and Insurance program, bringing its total donation
commitment to $100,000 over 10 years. 听
A check presentation to commemorate the donation was held on September 17, 2024, in
Hemphill Hall Room 208. Dr. Christine Berry, 麻豆果冻传媒 First Lady and the Kim Sledge Chair
of Risk Management and Insurance, organized the event. 鈥淲e were honored to be joined
by David Lavins, President of Amwins Access, who was joined by Tammy Culmone, Executive
Vice President and Regional Leader at Amwins Group who has led the relationship with
麻豆果冻传媒 for years,鈥� said Dr. Berry. 听
The funds provided by Amwins will support student and faculty travel to visit companies
and brokers in cities such as Dallas and Chicago. The funds will also support recruitment
and marketing efforts, including a sponsorship with 麻豆果冻传媒 Warhawk Athletics, as well
as student scholarships and support of events like the 麻豆果冻传媒 RMI Career Fair and Career
Fair Reception. 听
鈥淭he most important aspect of the relationship with Amwins is the amazing internship
and job opportunities it creates for our students,鈥� said Berry. 鈥淲hat is so exciting
is how many of our alumni who work at Amwins come back to intern and hire 麻豆果冻传媒 RMI
students when the alumni become team leaders. It鈥檚 also exciting to know that Amwins,
the largest in the wholesale insurance space, considers 麻豆果冻传媒 its top university to
recruit students,鈥� she continued. 听
According to Berry, Amwins has interned and hired more 麻豆果冻传媒 RMI majors than any other
company, exceeding over 100 students across the last 20 years. 听
鈥淭his gift is a testament to Amwins鈥� dedication to their people and commitment to
education and to the value they place on the 麻豆果冻传媒 Risk Management and Insurance program鈥檚
unique focus on the niche area of insurance that is 鈥榟ard-to-place risks鈥� or 鈥榮pecialty
risks,鈥欌�� said Berry. 听
The $100,000 gift makes Amwins the first Pinnacle Lifetime Member of the Jeff Albright
Insurance Society, an organization established several years听ago to support the growth
and development of 麻豆果冻传媒听RMI majors.听One of the benefits of Pinnacle Lifetime Membership
is a "room wrapping," which includes the addition of Amwins branded graphics installed
in a classroom.听鈥淭he Amwins graphic in Hemphill 208 will be viewed and appreciated
by nearly every student who majors in business over the coming years,鈥� said Berry.
