Every spring and fall semester, the University of Louisiana Monroe publishes two lists recognizing student accomplishments, the degree candidate list and the president’s and dean’s list. Each list is issued after grades have been posted and the list can be processed for release.Ìý
Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Office of Marketing & Communications publishes the list after certification by the Office of the Registrar. Due to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the university is limited to what information can be provided over the telephone, email or social media. The student (not his or her parent or guardian) must contact the Office of the Registrar to fix any errors in their grades or school record.
Students receiving Baccalaureate and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees are awarded Latin
honors in accordance with the following guidelines:
(*) Cum Laude: a cumulative grade point average (GPA) is within the range of 3.500 through 3.749.
(†) Magna Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA is within the range of 3.750 through 3.899.
(‡) Summa Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA is within the range of 3.900 through 4.000.
Students receiving their first associate degree from Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ will be awarded University
honors in accordance with the following guidelines:
(^)Honors — cumulative grade point average is within the range of 3.500 through 3.799
(~)High Honors — cumulative grade point average is within the range of 3.800 through 4.000
The cumulative average is the uncorrected average figured on all courses attempted,
which includes Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½, transfer, and repeated courses.Ìý
What if my name, degree, or location is incorrect?
Please contact the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Office of Marketing & Communications, they will correct it
and repost the list.
Please understand that the record is pulled from the student’s initial address when
they apply. If the student changes his or her physical address or mailing address,
this can change the location such as your parish or even your state. Current and permanent
addresses can be changed through the student’s banner account.
Why am I not on the President's and Dean's list?
Eligibility to the President’s or Dean’s requires full-time enrollment (minimum of
12 semester hours completed):
• President’s List: an undergraduate student is required to earn at least a 3.9-grade
point average.
• Dean’s List: an undergraduate student is required to earn at least a 3.5-grade point
average.
• Graduate or Doctoral Candidates are not eligible for the dean or president’s list.
After reviewing the qualifications, please contact the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Office of Marketing & Communications if you meet the criteria but were not certified or on the list. If the omission was a clerical error in the report, the Office of Marketing & Communications will correct it and repost the list. However, if the error or omission is based on protected student data, any changes must be made through the Office of the Registrar.
